THERE was fun down on the farm as a range of activities were held at Betty's Farm Shop in Willington.

Youngsters and their parents were treated to tours of the chicken farm, in Castle Way, and also had the chance to have a go on fairground rides and play games.

A food fair ran alongside the fun day, with local producers including Abracadabra Baked Creations and stallholders selling fudge, brownies and ice cream.

"It went down quite well," said director Emma Ruff.

"Most of the companies we worked with are from the local area, which is good."

The fun day was one of several events to take part at the farm.

Later in the month the site will host an open day in aid of the Burton branch of the Salvation Army, in Mosley Street.
